Publisher: NSW DPHI (Planning & Public Spaces)
Dataset: Standard Instrument LEP zone maps (per LGA)
Vintage: Latest gazetted LEP per LGA
Resolution: Vector polygons matching cadastre
How we use it
Polygon intersect with each lot
RU1–RU6 zone classification is read from the gazetted LEP zone polygon that covers each lot. The zone determines the Land Use Table — which uses are permitted with or without consent.
Limitations
Recent LEP amendments may not yet be reflected. Zoning determines WHAT is permitted, not what is happening on the ground — cross-reference with observed land use.

Publisher: ABARES (Cth) + NSW DPI
Dataset: NSW Land Use Mapping (ALUM classification)
Vintage: Latest NSW snapshot in ABARES Catchment Scale Land Use
Resolution: Vector polygons, ~50 m mapping unit
How we use it
Polygon intersect with each lot
The ALUM category describes what is OBSERVED on the ground (cropping, grazing, forestry, native vegetation, etc). This is complementary to the LEP zone, which defines what is permitted.
Limitations
Land-use snapshots lag actual use by 1–3 years. May not reflect recent enterprise changes or temporary uses (e.g. paddock rotation).

Publisher: NSW Spatial Services (DCS)
Dataset: NSW Digital Cadastral Database (DCDB)
Vintage: Updated continuously
Resolution: Per-lot polygon
How we use it
Lot/DP polygon used as the spatial unit
Limitations
Subdivisions registered in the last few weeks may not yet be reflected.
